Orsay - June 6, 2016VOCAPIA and SYSTRAN demonstrate an automated speech translation solution at EUROSATORY 2016
In the context of EUROSATORY exhibition, SYSTRAN and VOCAPIA are demonstrating
how they combined their language processing technologies to provide
Intelligence professionals with an automated speech translation solution
available in more than 45 languages.
At the 25th edition of the largest international land and airland Defence & Security exhibition, held in Paris Nord Villepinte from June 13th to June 17th, SYSTRAN, a world leader in machine translation and VOCAPIA, leader in automatic speech processing in the Defence industry, will expose side by side in HALL 5, on booth 5D 448. Current international geopolitical instability has enhanced the need for understanding the Eastern and Middle-Eastern languages. Actors in charge of territories security more than ever need to have efficient multilingual intelligence capabilities of OSINT and COMINT. Therefore, SYSTRAN and VOCAPIA have decided to combine their technologies and offer a speech transcription and machine translation solution in more than 45 languages. With this solution, it's now possible to transcribe an audio file in Arabic and instantly translate the automatic transcript to English. A demo will allow visitors to see how the combination of both companies' expertise can process a large number of audio files to quickly detect critical information and understand it regardless of language. To improve translation quality, SYSTRAN uses custom-tailored models that have fulfilled the quality standards of many Intelligence agencies in Europe, the U.S., Asia and the Middle East. "Our customers have increasingly been requesting technology to process audio files" notes Emmanuel Tonnelier, Director of Intelligence solutions at SYSTRAN. "By combining Vocapia's and our language processing expertise, it is easier to search and index multilingual information." "By integrating SYSTRAN's machine translation into our solution, we add an essential feature in detecting the information needed to take action: understanding the transcribed audio content," adds Bernard Prouts, President of VOCAPIA.
